HOCKEY FANS RAISE MONEY WITH CHARITY JERSEY
RAFFLE
Winning tickets drawn at Nassau Coliseum
UNIONDALE, NY, February 23, 2003 - As part of
the Microsoft Hockey Challenge held at Nassau
Coliseum today, a raffle was conducted for the
jerseys worn by the NHL alumni and celebrities
who played in the charity game.
Throughout the course of the Islanders-Bruins
game, a team of volunteers under the direction
of Jamie Van Dyke of Oyster Bay, sold raffle
tickets for a chance to win the autographed
jerseys. Islanders fans responded in generous
fashion and contributed almost $20,000 to the
raffle. The winning tickets were announced
during the charity hockey game.
The money raised by Companions in Courage
Foundation will be used to facilitate the
installation of interactive game rooms in local
children's hospitals.
